The Sulfur bucket elevator is used for vertically transporting sulfur materials from lower to higher levels within a factory. This equipment can handle lumpy, granular, and powdered sulfur, with a lifting capacity ranging from 5 to 150 tons per hour and a vertical lifting height of 5-40 meters. Due to the flammable, explosive, and slightly corrosive nature of sulfur, the equipment is equipped with deep stainless steel hoppers or antistatic polyethylene hoppers as standard. The entire casing is made of 304 stainless steel or carbon steel with a heavy-duty anti-corrosion paint coating to resist metal corrosion caused by sulfur acidification.

Benefits of Using a Sulfur Bucket Elevator

When transporting sulfur, static sparks can easily be generated due to friction, causing dust to explode in a confined space. Simultaneously, the trace amounts of sulfuric acid formed when sulfur reacts with water can rapidly corrode ordinary steel. Operating a sulfur bucket elevator keeps these risks within safe limits. The fully enclosed casing isolates airflow, preventing dust from floating within the factory. The use of stainless steel and special antistatic materials eliminates the risk of sparks from metal impacts, extending the equipment's service life by more than three times compared to ordinary carbon steel elevators. The vertical conveying angle is 90 degrees, reducing the factory floor space required by 80% compared to inclined belt conveyors.

 

Sulfur Bucket Elevator Structural Configuration

Explosion-proof Motor Rating: The drive motor configured in this equipment meets Ex d IIB T4 or Ex d IIC T4 explosion-proof ratings. Both the junction box and the machine body have airtight explosion-proof surfaces to prevent internal electrical sparks from igniting external sulfur dust and gas.

Explosion-proof Plate Configuration: Explosion-proof plates (explosion relief windows) with automatic pressure relief are installed in the head and base sections. When the internal pressure of the casing abnormally reaches 0.01-0.02 MPa, the explosion-proof plate will rupture first to release the pressure, guiding the airflow out in a direction and protecting the main casing from deformation.

Material Selection and Combination: The shell is welded from 4mm thick stainless steel plate; the traction components use high-strength anti-static rubber belts or high-strength alloy steel ring chains depending on the height; the hopper is fixed to the line body with anti-loosening bolts, and the edges are passivated.

Sealing Design: The head and bottom shaft bearings adopt an external seat design, leaving a 50mm isolation gap between them and the casing, supplemented by multi-layer labyrinth packing seals and pneumatic shaft seals. Sulfur dust cannot come into contact with the rotating bearings, nor can it escape into the external environment.

Improved Hopper Shape: The rear wall of the hopper is designed with a rounded inner angle, and the front lip has a slope. When wet sulfur becomes sticky, this geometry utilizes the centrifugal force of the material to allow the sulfur to slide smoothly out at the top, reducing material accumulation and hanging at the bottom of the hopper.

Finally, the elevator enters the workshop manufacturing and trial operation phase. After laser cutting and assembly of the casing, a 4-hour no-load operation test is performed in the factory, with rigorous monitoring of bearing temperature rise and chain tension to ensure quality.
